“Going My Way”, realizado por Leo McCarey, continha a canção “Swinging on a Star", interpretada por Bing Crosby (música de Jimmy Van Heusen; letra de Johnny Burke). “Gigi”, de Vincente Minnelli, venceu com a canção com o mesmo nome, interpretada por Louis Jourdan (música de Alan Jay Lerner e letra de Frederick Loewe). Em “Titanic”, de James Cameron, a canção era “My Heart Will Go On”, interpretada por Céline Dion (música de James Horner e letra de Will Jennings). “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King”, de Peter Jackson, venceu com “Into the West”, interpretada por Annie Lennox (música e letra de Fran Walsh, Howard Shore and Annie Lennox).
