«THE KEY MOMENT 2013

After ten years of rebuilding, renovation and restoration, the Rijksmuseum was reopened on the 13th of April by Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands. Never before has a national museum undergone such a complete transformation. The official opening ceremony in front of the building was broadcasted internationally. As her final public duty before retirement Her Majesty was handed a giant key by museum director Wim Pijbes to open a monumental bronze lock commissioned especially for the occasion and designed by Studio Job.» (Link)
